There is nothing better than working with couples over the years, watching them grow and evolve from teens, or seniors in this case, to young adults, watching them meet their “one” and getting to be apart of it ALL! I have known Jared for about eight years and Karlie for almost four years, her momma is like a sister to me.
I had the chance to do both of their senior portraits and who would have guessed that 4 years later they would be in love and I would be able to photograph their engagement!!
Around this time last year, my mom and I were talking and had the lightbulb effect… we were thinking of how to introduce Karlie and Jared. Shortly after, I was over at Karlie’s house and asked her if she would mind if my dad gave her name and number to this guy named Jared. She cautiously said yes and about 45 minutes later Jared reached out to her! Flash forward exactly a year later to having the opportunity to take these!! It’s so amazing how God works… Sooooooo thankful He brought these two together!
To pull the whole surprise off took a team effort! Jared and Karlie’s sister, Katie, planned the whole thing out! Katie went and got all of the “goods”. then she and I went and scouted a location. My husband Tony was SHOVELING snow into that spot so the pedals would pop!
Katie had been wanting some couples portraits of them since summer so that was a perfect cover! Jared had “Porch swing angel” playing as they walked up to this little spot. Karlie knew this day was fast approaching but she was so SURPRISED! After Jarden got down on one knee and Karlie blurted out YES some of their family greeted them with all the happy tears and prayed over them as they start this new part of their journey!
Karlie and Jared, I am literally sooooooo excited for you guys! So proud of you both and can’t wait to see where God takes you both! All the love for these two!
